About Me

Welcome to Aparna Singh’s Website and Blog!

A Marketing professional turned Writer, I believe that I bring a ‘business’ approach to writing - while writing is an art, businesses need great work that reads well and ties in with what they need to say. I blog to share my writing and my interests - books, writing fiction, social causes (especially relating to Indian women) and travel.

If you like what you see and have an assignment to discuss, contact me at apusworldATyahooDOTcoDOTin.

Most of my business writing has been for specific clients in areas such as Information Technology, the Food industry, Fashion and Academic Research. For reasons of confidentiality, naturally, I cannot reproduce those here.

However, do have a look at some work that is available online. My earliest blog, The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle focused on original fiction and literary review. More recently, until I moved to my own domain, I blogged on feminism, workplace issues and the Indian business world at Cubically Challenged. I also contribute to Ultraviolet, the Indian Feminist colla-blog. (My pieces are listed here)

Read what I’d consider, my “good” travel pieces - an account of a visit to Horsley Hills and on one of the ‘Big Four’ Chola temples at Dharasuram.

A long time ago, I was thrilled to have my pieces accepted at Bootsnall, and while I haven’t contributed anything in some time, you can read here my articles on the forgotten 64-yoginis temple in Orissa and on a visit to the heritage-village near Chennai, Dakshin Chitra.

I normally work on projects such as article writing, web content of different kinds, academic/research writing and editing, and of course blogging. I am associated as an Editor with Writer’s Side, India’s first professional manuscript assessment service. I’m based in Bangalore, India and open to traveling for larger projects.
