Some time ago, we had a lazy and fulfilling weekend in Shimoga; an account of that has been published by The Hindu this week - you can read it here.

I am presently looking for a place to visit during my Christmas break from work :) Looks like a nice place to consider !

Apu: oh yes, it’s definitely worth a visit.

Thanks for a very nice travelogue.

It definitely looks a great place to visit & get away from the hum-drum of city life. Please let me know about the road condition from Bangalore to Shimoga. I plan to drive to Shimoga.

Satish, Thank you; it is a lovely place. We took the train down, so I can’t tell you about the road condition, but we did hear that stretches of it are bad.

Hey Aathira, unfortunately, the Hindu, in their move to a new website, don’t seem to have moved links properly. I can’t find that link! Let me know if you want any info and I’ll send you a mail. (or the whole article, if you want…)
